My BF and I dated for almost 8 months when he suddenly, out of the blue, told me that he wasn’t in love anymore and broke up with me. We’ve known each other for 3 years and been really good friend, we’ve liked each other since we met, but I had a different BF then and he was too shy. We started dating this year and it was amazing. I was his first real girlfriend (he’s 22) but I truly felt like he’s the one. We just got along and fit together. He had brought up the idea of us getting married, we weren’t planning a wedding or anything, but we knew that that’s what we both wanted. Kids had come up, engagement rings, what kind of dog we want to get. I was going to move down to SC with him after I graduate (I’m a year behind him). We never had any huge fights, little disagreements or issues, but we took them all in stride and worked through them. We had our first big fight a weekend or so ago and it was about half resolved but he had a huge project due, so I left it alone so he could concentrate on school work. The next weekend we talked about our problems and came up with solutions, he invited me to an end of the year banquet that was a week from then. I felt like we were fine. When I saw him later that evening, he didn’t seem ok, and when I asked what was wrong, he simply said that he’s not in love anymore. I don’t understand how someone can fall out of love in a week’s time. I wonder if it has something to do with graduation and him moving away from home. He’s very in control of his emotions and holds things in, he’s also under a lot of stress right now. I’m giving him his space, no contact with him at all, for my sake, even though he wanted to continue meeting me for lunch everyday like usual, after we broke up. He also wanted me to still come with him to the banquet. I’m very confused. Is there still a chance for us?
